Jonathan Coachman had a great run with WWE from 1999 to 2008, when he decided not to re-sign with the company so he could go to ESPN. Years later, he did return to WWE, but his time wasnt as fruitful that time around.

After a few cameos on WWE television, Jonathan Coachman re-signed with WWE on January 29, 2018, joining the Raw commentary team alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves, replacing Booker T. He left the Raw commentary team on September 10 and was replaced by Renee Young, becoming the new pre-show panel host for pay-per-views.

While speaking to The Angle Podcast, Coach admitted that he was pushed off of commentary. He said that certain people didnt want him there, although he didnt name-drop them during the interview.

Coachman also served as the pregame host for the 2020 XFL. He left WWE and the XFL in 2021, stating he expected reimbursement for his travel expenses but never received it due to the XFLs bankruptcy. He did not name Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn during that portion, but he did admit that he is open to return now that theyre gone.

Coach made it clear that he wouldnt return to WWE if Vince and Dunn were still in control. Now that the two have no power in the company, we may see him make a comeback once again if things work out.
