The weeks fly by and the FedExCup playoffs are fast approaching, with the PGA Tour making a stop in Detroit for the Rocket Mortgage Classic. Last year was one of the most exciting tournaments of the entire season, with the three-way playoff that brought a much loved name like Rickie Fowler back to victory.
A very tantalizing field, made up of prominent names and young people on the launching pad who could enter the world golf scene very soon.

Detroit Golf Club which will soon change face, given that a total change to the layout is scheduled for the end of next year.
The original design dates back to 1906 by Donald Ross, and has already been partially modified for the first edition of this tournament in 2019. The course is a not too complicated par 72, with the course record being 63 strokes, while that of the entire week is the 262 shots used by Tony Finau to win in 2022.
Fowler returns to the place that last year made him break a very long fast, and in the event of another success he would be the first to find an encore in the short history of this tournament. Cameron Young, who last week scored a 59 at the Travelers and two editions ago finished in second place, returns to the field immediately, while Michael Thorbjornsen will make his second professional appearance after his debut at the Travelers Championship (T39).
He who finished at the top of the PGA TOUR University rankings in May (thus earning PGA TOUR membership for the remainder of the 2024 and 2025 seasons), after four dominators at Stanford. The tireless Tom Kim will once again be on the one tee after missing out on the playoff last week, and with him will be 15-year-old prodigy Miles Russell.
The American, who is dominating at junior level, is a much talked about name, he has already made the cut on the Korn Ferry Tour and can do very well this week. Among all these young promises, the Italian Francesco Molinari also returns to the field, having decided to stay in America and not return to Italy for the home Open, and so is looking for a prominent result that can make him return the smile.
