Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are the favorites to win the final at Wimbledon, with one variable being (if he plays) Novak Djokovic. Bookmakers' odds speak very clearly at the moment: the Spaniard and the Italian are the two main favorites for the London Major which starts next Monday 1 July and ends on Sunday 14 July.

Mats Wilander, former Swedish champion, winner of 7 Grand Slam tournaments and nowcommentator for Eurosport, talked about the player he sees as favorite for the final victory, focusing especiallybetween Alcaraz and Sinner.

And Wilander seems to have a very clear opinion: for him the favorite for final success at Wimbledon is Carlos Alcaraz.

"I think Carlos is the favorite for Wimbledon. Alcaraz has already proven to himself and to the other players in the dressing room as well as to the whole world that he can do it," said Wilander, referring to last year's final against Novak Djokovic. A match which allowed him to win the 2023 edition of the prestigious Grand Slam tournament on grass for the first time.

Wilander renewed his faith in Carlos Alcaraz despite the Spanish tennis player's defeat at Queen's by Jack Draper in the round of 16 rather than trusting world number 1 and Halle tournament winner Jannik Sinner. In the meantime, all eyes are on the draw scheduled for 11am tomorrow, Friday 28 June. With the uncertainty surrounding Djokovic's health, the other players appear to be far behind the winners of the first two Grand Slam events of the year.
