After the premature defeat at the Queen's Club Championships, a tournament in which he was beaten in the round of 16 by Jack Draper, Carlitos is determinedly aiming for a repeat at the Championships, after last year's success in the final against Novak Djokovic.
After winning Roland Garros, Alcaraz explained that the forearm problem that severely affected him in the first part of the clay season seems to have definitely been overcome. Speaking at an event organized by Babolat in which Holger Rune and Cameron Norrie were also present, Carlitos specifically said that he was in London with the aim of reconfirming the title won in 2023.
"I feel like I have no more injuries, that I can hit freely, 100% without thinking about it. We did a great job. The clay court season was difficult, but I no longer felt any pain. I'm here to get the same result as last year," he told
On the same day in which the draw for Wimbledon 2024 was drawn, the title holder Alcaraz explained his objectives for the third Slam of the year which starts on Monday 1 July at Wimbledon. The 2024 Roland Garros champion certainly cannot complain about the draw given that he avoided several loose cannons not included among the seeded players and his path, at least on paper, seems to be decidedly easier than that of his two main rivals, namely Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic.
