After training with Jannik Sinner - the new number one in the world - Novak Djokovic did not waste any time and participated in the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic exhibition event to test again the condition of his knee.
The Serbian champion played a three-set match against Daniil Medvedev and managed to beat the Russian with the score of 6-3, 6-4. As usual, the Serbian has paid a lot of attention to the movements to be made - especially from the bottom of the field - and tried to always shorten the exchanges.
At the end of the challenge with Medvedev, Djokovic said he was quite satisfied with the level expressed today and explained that he absolutely does not feel like a superhero, because many athletes have followed a similar path after an injury.

"I enjoyed the game today. I thank everyone for coming to see this event. I can tell you that playing tennis freely is best. Im grateful I could do that. Daniil is obviously one of the best players in the world. I played a couple of workout sets and really wanted to come here to test my knee and figure out how I could move.
The test went well and Im really happy. I think my team is happy. They were very intense three weeks after the operation. I spent many hours completing rehab and trying to be ready for Wimbledon," Novak Djokovic said in the post-game interview.
"I wanted to give myself a chance to play Wimbledon. The doctor who operated on me is here: he is the MVP. They did a fantastic job and I thank them. Without them I wouldnt be here to play. Im trying to think day after day, well see where I can go.
Superman? Even Taylor Fritz did it. I probably also had 3/4 days more than him. He was the first person I spoke to after the injury because he suffered something similar. He shared her journey with me and helped me a lot. I asked many people - like Stan Wawrinka and Zlatan Ibrahimovi - why this is the first time I have faced a similar problem".
