PW Insider reports that Mercedes Mone was seen with Shane McMahon at LaGuardia Airport in New York City this morning. They were seen speaking as they headed to their respective flights.
A source confirmed that they did have a conversation about AEW. Rumors have circulated about Shane McMahons interest in AEW, and AEW President Tony Khan has noted his openness to speaking with McMahon. Despite the rumors, McMahon, who lives in the NYC area, was not seen backstage at the AEW Forbidden Door PPV last night.
We will have to see if Tony Khan brings in Shane McMahon for any reason. He could shake things up creatively in a big way. If anything, we know that McMahon is friendly with the current TBS Champion, who also won the NJPW Strong Womens Title at the recent pay-per-view event.
