In a final explosive round which pitted the most fusional associations against each other this week, the precocious talent of the Thitikul-Yin pair brought everyone into agreement. The two young women won the Dow Championship together.

Yin, results

For two seasons now, they have been the best representatives of a triumphant youth, hungry for quick victories, and since this Sunday in Michigan, in style. Atthaya Thitikul, 21 years old and former world number 1.

At her side, Ruoning Yin, also 21 years old and already a Major title at the KPMG Womens PGA Championship 2023. This Sunday, at the Midland Country Club, the Sino-Thai pair was able to build on their mutually profitable association by combining eight birdies.

Four each on different holes to force the decision with a 62 (-8) on the last day. The best card of their week offers them victory at the Dow Championship in -22 total, for a step ahead of the American leaders since the first day of competition, Ewing-Kupcho.

After their first victory of the season for their first appearance side by side, the two young women did not shy away from their pleasure: We had a lot of fun together all week. Winning on the LPGA is not easy, there are so many talented players on the Tour that it makes it very special.

Even more so when doing it with a real friend by your side. If the tournament consisted of four rounds of four balls, there would have been a winner by a long shot and the rest. Unfortunately for the Boutier-Saso pair, there were also two rounds of foursomes.

It is this format which cost the two stars victory this week. Because this Sunday, like Friday, the Franco-Japanese duo once again produced the best card of the day. Two combined rounds in -21 (58 and 61) counterbalanced by two foursome rounds in +6 (74 and 72), to sign a final 17th place in -15 total.

Ten rows behind, a little spark was missing at the heart of a serious week but without any real sparkle for Perrine Delacour. Her final 27th place this week will still remain a satisfaction since it is the second best result of her season on the LPGA.
