The road to NXTs upcoming Premium Live Event, Heatwave, will culminate this Sunday, July 7, 2024, at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as part of Money in the Bank weekend.
With a stacked line-up already announced for the show, a last-minute addition has been made to the Countdown show to NXT Heatwave. On the July 2 edition of WWE NXT, Canadian stars Karmen Petrovich and Arianna Grace spoke backstage regarding being left out of the show taking place in their hometown.
Later in the show, Petrovich battled Jazmyn Nyx in a one-on-one showdown. During the final moments of the bout, as Karmen was looking to seal the victory, Jazmyns cohort, Jacy Jayne, caused timely interference, leading to her pinning Karmen Petrovich for the win.
The Karate specialist then stormed into General Manager Ava regarding the events that happened during her match. However, Ava announced that she would battle both Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx in a tag team match on the countdown show to NXT Heatwave. While Karmen Petrovich thought that her mentor, Natalya, would be her partner, it was instead revealed that she would instead be tagging along Arianna Grace, who got the duo a spot at the NXT Heatwave show.
