Will Ospreay fought hard to dethrone the current AEW Champion Swerve Strickland in agrueling main event at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door and many fans loved the match and it appears that even Eric Bischoff did as well.

Despite being handed a screwdriver by Don Callis after the referee was incapacitated, Ospreay chose not to use it. This hesitation allowed Strickland to recover, seize control of the match, and deliverthree House Calls to retain his AEW World title.

While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff talked about Will Ospreay vs Swerve Strickland and hailed the bout as one of Tony Khans best creative decisions to date.

Despite his criticisms of AEW, especially regarding Swerve Stricklands booking in the past, Bischoff took the opportunity to commend Strickland, Khan, and Ospreay for their performances at Forbidden Door.

Will Ospreay has also vowed to become the AEW World Champion one day, but fans are certainly surprised to see so much praise from Eric Bischoff. Regardless, well have to see if AEW will continue to make decisions that Bischoff will praise in the end.
