The fall of WCW remains a major subject within the wrestling community, with its demise attributed to a multitude of factors. Even then, WWE has been bringing back a lot of aspects from WCW into their current programming and it appears they might be bringing back a popular WCW pay-per-view.
WWE has recently secured a new trademark for an old WCW pay-per-view event, SuperBrawl. This event was a staple of WCW programming from 1991 through 2001. The inaugural main event featured Ric Flair vs. Tatsumi Fujinami for the WCW and NWA World Heavyweight Championships, while the final show saw Scott Steiner face Kevin Nash in a Retirement match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
It is to be noted that WWE has already brought back old WCW pay-per-views, as they have featured the likes of Halloween Havoc, a WCW staple, as part of NXTs special shows.
On July 2, WWE filed for the SuperBrawl trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, specifically for broadcast media, making it clear they have something planned related to the event.
We will have to wait and see how WWE will be utilizing the SuperBrawl name and incorporating it into programming, as fans might just get to see another special episode of NXT eventually.
