MJF returned as a babyface at Double or Nothing in May, but that did not last long as he turned heel on AEW Dynamite this week. In light of his shocking heel turn, he has now broken his silence on the matter.
In the main event of the July 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, Daniel Garcia challenged Will Ospreay for the AEW International Championship in a highly charged match. MJF accompanied Garcia to the ring and even attempted to assist him by offering his Dynamite Diamond Ring to use as a weapon. However, Garcia refused to resort to cheating.
Ospreay capitalized on the distraction caused by MJF, delivering the Hidden Blade to secure the victory and retain his title. After the match, Ospreay showed respect to Garcia, but the situation quickly turned chaotic. MJF, seemingly consoling Garcia, suddenly betrayed him with low blow and then followed it with a brutal assault. He used the Dynamite Diamond Ring to inflict more damage, leaving both Garcia and Matt Menard bloodied.
MJFs rampage continued unchecked as he disregarded security officials who attempted to intervene. He taunted Garcia, questioning his resilience, before executing a Tombstone piledriver off the second rope. Just as MJF seemed ready to continue the attack, Ospreay rushed in to save Garcia and MJF retreated.
As Garcia was stretchered out, MJF callously threw trash at fans, leaving a shocking and disturbing conclusion to the episode of AEW Dynamite. MJF then took to Twitter and his shocking heel turn and simply uploaded a post of his upcoming appearance on AEW Collision this week, where he will explain his actions after destroying Daniel Garcia.
We will have to wait and see what MJF will have to say regarding his heinous assault on Daniel Garcia, as it is quite clear now that the old MJF is back and AEW has been put on notice.
