The fall of WCW continues to be a significant topic in the wrestling community, with various factors contributing to its demise. Despite this, WWE has been reintroducing many elements from WCW into their current programming. Interestingly enough, they may also revive more classic WCW pay-per-views in the future.

As previously reported, WWE recently secured a new trademark for an old WCW pay-per-view event, SuperBrawl. This event was a major part of WCW programming from 1991 through 2001. The inaugural main event featured Ric Flair vs. Tatsumi Fujinami for the WCW and NWA World Heavyweight Championships, while the final show saw Scott Steiner face Kevin Nash in a Retirement match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

WWE recently filed trademark applications for the terms New Blood Rising and The Match Beyond on July 3, following their earlier application for SuperBrawl.

New Blood Rising pay-per-view took place on August 13, 2000 from the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia and featured matches such as Booker T retaining the WCW World Title against Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash beating Goldberg and Scott Steiner and other classic matches.

While theres speculation about WWE potentially resurrecting these shows, its also plausible that WWE is filing for these trademarks for archival purposes. However, the descriptions mentioning ongoing suggest WWE might have future plans for them.

WWE has already repurposed several WCW properties for the NXT brand, including annual specials like Halloween Havoc. This trend hints at WWEs willingness to leverage nostalgic WCW brands for their current programming. We will have to wait and see how WWE will be utilizing the old WCW pay-per-views eventually, as the company will surely make something great out of them.
