Emma Raducanu's great grass season continues as the British tennis star destroyed world No. 9 Maria Sakkari to make the second week at Wimbledon.

Just moments ago, Raducanu - who received a wildcard into Wimbledon - demolished ninth-seeded Sakkari 6-2 6-3 to reach the Wimbledon round-of-16 for the second time in her career.

Throughout the match, Raducanu played balanced tennis and she was the one realizing her opportunities and not allowing Sakkari to get back into the match. Another important thing to mention was that Raducanu was looking confident during the entire match, while Sakkari was struggling to find consistency and that ultimately led to the 2021 US Open winning the match in two sets.

Also, Raducanu saved all seven of Sakkari's break points while Sakkari also committed 31 unforced errors in just over and a half of action.

Now, Raducanu has a very favorable round-of-16 matchup as she plays against qualifier world No. 123 Lulu Sun.

How Raducanu beat Sakkari?

When the match started, Sakkari blew two game points in the opening game and then also two consecutive break points in the following game as Raducanu opened an early 2-0 lead.

A couple of games later, Raducanu saved another break point to go 4-2 up before breaking Sakkari again in the seventh game to open a 5-2 lead. Up by a double break, the 21-year-old Briton faced some problems when serving for the first set but managed to save two break points before converting her first set point.

At the start of the second set, Raducanu also broke Sakkari in the third game. Down by a set and a break, Sakkari had a break point to instantly get the break back in the fourth game but the 2021 US Open champion again saved the Greek's break point chances to go 3-1 up.

The next couple of games went without a single break point - but then in the ninth game when Sakkari was serving to stay in the match - Raducanu earned three break points which were match points at the same time and realized her third to complete her two-set win.
