CM Punks arrival in AEW was highly anticipated, bringing a fresh chapter to his career. However, his stint with the company ended abruptly with his release last year. Bryan Danielson has now addressed never getting to face Punk in AEW.

CM Punks debut in AEW in 2021 was big deal, showing how important he was in the company. He won the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing 2022, which was a huge achievement. However, his title reign was cut short due to injuries, including a torn triceps he got during the Brawl Out fight at AEW All Out 2022.

Punk came back in June 2023 and played a major role on AEW Collision. However, his time with AEW ended quickly after fight with Jack Perry, which led to AEW ending his contract. After leaving AEW, Punk surprised everyone by returning to WWE at Survivor Series later that year.

While speaking to Inside The Ropes, Bryan Danielson was asked about the fact that he never got to square off against CM Punk in AEW and whether he was sad about that fact. Danielson admitted that he had hoped to work with CM Punk in AEW, but it didnt materialize. He wasnt sad about it but thought it would have been fun to reunite with Punk in a storyline.

Bryan Danielson also revealed his current relationship with CM Punk following his AEW firing. Regardless, fans will always be disappointed that Punk and Danielson never faced each other in AEW but thats all in the past now.
