Iga Swiatek is set to be back in action very soon after her disappointing US Open campaign as the world No. 1 has signed up to play at the WTA 500 tournament in Seoul next week, via Polish tennis journalist Dominik Senkowski.

At the final Major tournament of the year, the five-time Grand Slam champion saw her run at Flushing Meadows end earlier than expected after she got upset by Jessica Pegula in a quarterfinal match during which she sprayed 41 unforced errors and didn't look anywhere near her best.

Following the loss, the Polish tennis superstar was asked if she would pause a bit since she definitely looked tired against the American and also previously called out the schedule a couple of times during the North American hard-court swing.

"I don't want to take a break. It's tough. It could be a little bit easier, but I'm keeping up with the schedule. I'm only talking about mandatory tournaments and there are rules about mandatory tournaments. But I'm ready for playing till November, I guess, unless I'm going to get injured," Swiatek said.

Swiatek keeps her word, instantly returns to action

Last year, the world No. 1 suffered a shock US Open round-of-16 loss. But when she returned to action, she looked much better and finished her season on a very high note.

Now, she seems to be following the same recipe as she hopes she can do much better in Seoul and quickly bounce back from a US Open disappointment.

After losing to Jelena Ostapenko at Flushing Meadows last year, Swiatek didn't hide that her confidence was shaken and that she wasn't in the best possible place.

But then, she slowly started to rediscover her best game and managed to win back-to-back titles in Beijing and the WTA Finals - finish the year with 11 consecutive wins - and regain the world No. 1 spot that she lost to Aryna Sabalenka at the US Open.

For Swiatek, winning Seoul next week would certainly be exactly what the doctor ordered.
