The American legend Andy Roddick talked in his podcast about the meeting with the Italian champion Jannik Sinner. Andy did not know him but was amazed by his attitude on and off the court of the ATP No.1.

Before the final won in straight sets against Taylor Fritz, the former US Open champion had the chance to talk to Jannik and his team and was impressed by how the Italian had arrived before the final.

"I said hello to Sinner, Darren Cahill and Andre Agassi were there and obviously I would have been an idiot if I hadn't said hello to all of them. I was afraid of getting in his way while he was preparing for the match, but he is the most relaxed person I have ever seen, apart from Roger Federer, and all before a Grand Slam final," said Roddick.

Andy then talkedabout Jannik's post-final attitude and analyzed: "After the match Jannik was talking about his shots and how he wanted to get back to work right away to improve, all this just an hour after the US Open and it's really intimidating. He plays and is not very stressed."

This week he took a well-deserved rest after the feat of the US Open but the world number 1 has lived two exceptional months in the USA, between Cincinnati and New York, even if off the court he has had to live with the doping-issue that has been worrying him since the end of March, when he was found positive for clostebol in Indian Wells. An independent court then proved his innocence: now WADA will decide the final fate of the young Italian champion, filing an appeal against the sentence or not.

Lats hours Sinner went to visit the Davis Cup team in Bologna, busy with the last challenges of the Davis group (where it has already qualified for the Davis Cup Finals). Jannik took a few days off and then will return to the court to train and best prepare for the final part of the season. Between tournaments in Asia, Davis and ATP Finals, the Italian is expected to have a great final where he will also try to maintain the lead in the ATP ranking.
