Just started and already finished: Jiri Lehecka and Tomas Berdych will no longer work together, as announced by the Czech tennis player himself on his social media.

"From today and by mutual agreement, I have ended my collaboration with Tomas Berdych, we will continue to work in the Davis Cup team. I wish him every success and many victories in his new role as team captain. For the rest, my team remains the same, with coach Michal Navratil, fitness coach Radek Stepanek and physiotherapist Carlos Manuel Baptista Carvalho. The general manager of the team is Roman Vik and the agent is Pierre Christen," said the Czech tennis player.

The 22-year-old had been linked to his idol Berdych since Monte Carlo 2024, but things, also due to several injuries, did not go as hoped. The Czech had started the season playing with good consistency, reaching the final stages in several prestigious tournaments, such as Indian Wells, beaten by Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals, but above all in Madrid, where he had to stop in the semifinals due to a back problem, which then kept him out for over three months.

Lehecka returned for the swing in America, first in Cincinnati and then at the US Open, but never went beyond the third round. In the Davis Cup, however, came the most stinging defeats, which then probably led to this decision, against Roberto Bautista Agut and Arthur Fils in the matches played by his Czech Republic against Spain and France.
