AEW Dynamite delivered an action-packed show on September 18 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA, as Jon Moxley continued to escalate his feud with Darby Allin and set his sights on Bryan Danielson. Originally, Allin was scheduled to face Danielson at AEW Grand Slam on September 25, but plans changed following Moxleys brutal attack on Danielson at All Out.
Now, Moxley and Allin are set to face off, with Allins shot at Danielsons AEW World Championship on the line. The winner of their match will go on to challenge Danielson at AEW WrestleDream on October 12, 2024, at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington. However, Bryan Danielsons status for both Grand Slam and WrestleDream is now in question.
During the September 18 episode of AEW Dynamite, it was revealed that Bryan Danielson is currently not medically cleared for in-ring action. His status will depend on whether he can be cleared by September 25, leaving his participation at Grand Slam uncertain. In the meantime, Nigel McGuinness has thrown his hat in the ring, eager to face Danielson given their storied history, even if its not for the title.
With Jon Moxley determined to reclaim the AEW World Championship and McGuinness waiting in the wings, Bryan Danielson has plenty to contend with as he nears the end of his in-ring career.
