Pro wrestling fans were buzzing about the Unsanctioned Lights Out Cage Match, which many believe went too far. Adam Page defeated Swerve Strickland in a brutal display, and while Swerve is now taking a break from AEW, Page remains very much active.
During the September 18 AEW Dynamite, Adam Hangman Page had an opportunity to further his storyline within Tony Khans company. The show kicked off with a highlight package showcasing everything he has accomplished in recent weeks.
The video package made it clear that Pages anger and frustration were palpable, demonstrating his determination to get what he wants. The anticipation for his promo built throughout the show, heightening the hype for his appearance.
Hangman Page was welcomed to the ring by Tony Schiavone for an interview, and he had plenty to say, sporting a noticeable chip on his shoulder. When Schiavone questioned Page about his comments from the previous week, Page replied that he had anticipated a day when Swerve Strickland would be dealt with, and he would be gone.
Page further stated that he knew Swerve wouldnt be the only one needing to pay, as everyone who stood behind him and protected him from Page should also be punished. He made it clear that he was seeking retribution, even addressing the fans who chanted for Swerves House, asserting that they needed to be dealt with too.
The promo intensified as Hangman Page mentioned that hearing those chants reminded him of the support he received while he was sidelined for months due to suspension. Tensions escalated when he pointed out that he had heard Schiavone cheering for Swerve every week. Just as Page seemed poised to confront Schiavone violently, Jeff Jarrett interrupted, providing a distraction.
Page and Jarrett brawled briefly outside the ring, but the WWE Hall of Famer ended up taking a beating. After being slammed against the guardrails, Hangman brought him back to the ring to deliver a Buckshot Lariat, but security intervened. This segment took a dramatic turn, allowing Tony Schiavone to escape unharmed.
As Hangman backed up the ramp, Jarrett grabbed the microphone and declared, Theres a whole locker room that wants to beat the hell out of you, and The Last Outlaw is at the front of the line. He then vowed to kick Hangmans ass if it was the last thing he did, indicating that a matchup between the two is on the horizon.
