Monday Night RAW originally aired for two hours before WWE extended it to three hours in 2012. Now, after over ten years, the show is set to revert to its original two-hour length. Mercedes Mone has shared her concerns regarding this move.
On the September 9 episode of Monday Night RAW, part of WWE Week on the USA Network, it was officially revealed that RAW would switch back to a two-hour format starting October 7. The show will air from 8/7c to 10/9c each week and continue in this time slot until its final episode on the USA Network, which is set for December 30.
Writing in her Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes Mone admitted that she has mixed feelings about WWE RAW shrinking from 3 hours to 2. Shes always appreciated the extra hour because it allowed more performers, including women, to have their moment on TV. Losing that time might limit opportunities for the roster.
However, she sees a potential positive in Netflix, as she hopes it could offer new ways to showcase talent. Mone believes that increasing opportunities for talent benefits everyonefans and the business alike.
On the other hand, a WWE employee believes that the shift to two hours will encourage talent to fight for their spot. We have also reported on the reasonbehind this shift to the two-hour format and fans still do wonder if the shift will become a permanent one once RAW moves to Netflix, as anything could happen.
