Jon Rahm is the annual champion of LIV 2024. The Spaniard was crowned this Sunday in the individual final in Chicago (USA), and therefore became the recipient of most of the rain of millions that the Saudi super league reserves for this event and the one that will decide the team classification this coming week in Dallas.

The bonus for the title of the course, a purse separate from that of the tournament itself, amounts to 18 million dollars (16.2 euros), the salary of a year of a star footballer in one of the major leagues of the world, or that of a well-regarded player in the NBA, NFL, MLB...
For Sergio Garca, who finished on the podium of the season, there is another succulent check, 4.9 'kilos' (4.4 euros), between tournament and bonus. And the money that both Spaniards will receive does not end there, because they still have to add what corresponds to them for the performance of the franchises they captain.
Both Rahm's Legion XIII, second in the table in Chicago, and Sergio's Fireballs, third, still have a chance of being the annual team champions in Dallas, where another 50 million (45 euros) will be shared out. In this way, Rahmbo will receive a total of 22 million (19.8 euros, 38 in prizes throughout the year), plus a little more than 375,000 as a share of the team classification, and Sergio, another 4.9 plus around 125,000.

The circuit rivals the PGA Tour (United States) and the DP World Tour (Europe), offering substantially higher prize money. The name LIV refers to the total number of holes to be played in each event (54 in Roman numerals, corresponding to 3 rounds of 18 holes), as opposed to the usual 72 holes (4 rounds of 18 holes) on other tours.
Alternatively, 54 is the score achieved by scoring a birdie on every hole on a par 72 course. In March 2022, LIV Golf CEO, former professional golfer and former world number one Greg Norman, announced the schedule for the first season of the LIV Golf Invitational Series.

It consists of eight tournaments, to be played over a total of 54 holes with no cut. Each tournament will feature 48 players, who will be grouped into 12 teams of four players, with simultaneous starts. The total prize money to be distributed amounts to 255 million dollars.
