Daniil Medvedev had no problem revealing what he hopes will happen to his opponents during the matches they play this season, as the Russian himself revealed with brutal honesty during the Laver Cup media day. The former US Open winner in fact revealed that he hopes like his rivals don't win.

"I think it's very easy. Usually you hope that a lot of these guys don't win: both when you play them and in other matches thinking about the rankings. This is the only week where you are very relaxed about it. You just want them to win for the team, you don't care about the score or who they're playing against. So it's a good feeling. I hope Alcaraz plays like he does when he plays me on tour, so we can all be more relaxed. I wish him a lot of points for the team, that's all," said the Russian.
One of the peculiarities that makes the Laver Cup even more interesting is seeing how players who usually face each other without holds barred on the ATP Tour behave when they are part of the same team. This year, for example, Team Europe will be able to count on the presence of three tennis players such as Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and Medvedev himself.
