Double victory for the Englishman John Parry in the Italian Challenge Open. He won the tournament with 266 (66 67 65 68, -18) shots and with the third seasonal success he immediately climbed on the DP World Tour. On the Argentario Golf Club course (par 71), in Monte Argentario (GR), in the second event of the Italian Pro Tour 2024, the circuit of national and international competitions of the Italian Golf Federation, organized with the collaboration of its Official Advisor, Infront Italy, and also included in the Challenge Tour calendar, Lorenzo Gagli offered a good performance, seventh with 273 (73 66 65 69, -11).

Of the other Italians, Jacopo Vecchi Fossa ranked 33rd with 279 (-5), followed by Flavio Michetti, 42nd with 280 (-4), Enrico Di Nitto, 44th with 281 (-3), Edoardo Raffaele Lipparelli, 48th with 282 (-2), who made a hole in one in the first round (hole 14, par 3, 115 meters, wedge), and Mattia Comotti, 67th with 290 (+6).

John Parry, 37 years old from Harrogate, pro since 2007 and at his 106th competition, has brought his successes on the Challenge Tour to four after those in the Allianz Golf Open Grand Toulouse (2009), the Delhi Challenge and the Blot Open de Bretagne (2024), as well as a title on the DP World Tour way back in 2010 (Vivendi Cup).

This year he also has four top-10 finishes under his belt, including a second place in the Danish Golf Open and a sixth in the previous Open de Portugal. He concluded his winning run with a partial of 68 (-3) with three birdies without bogeys and, in total, he scored 20 birdies with only one double bogey in the third round.

He was rewarded with a check for 56,000 euros on a prize pool of 350,000 euros. An uphill but effective run for Lorenzo Gagli, 38 years old from Bagno a Ripoli (FI), who recovered 81 positions in the second round, another 20 in the third and finally three in the fourth with a partial of 69 (-2, three birdies, one bogey.) In his career he has obtained one title on the Challenge Tour (Kenya Open, 2018), three on the Alps Tour and has won a National Open Championship and an Italian PGA Championship.
