Alexander Zverev has become the player with the most wins between singles and doubles in the history of the Laver Cup, having surpassed Roger Federer.

The Swiss Maestro, who is among the creators of the event and was present in the stands, watched many matches of the competition: a great help and a privilege for all the players, as Zverev himself underlined, on the sidelines of the event.
"I think it's fantastic to play in front of so many legends of our sport, it's not just Roger here, but obviously it's an honor. I had the privilege of watching him growing up. I had the privilege of playing against him during my career, the privilege of being his teammate. And now I have the privilege of playing in front of him. It's fantastic in all these aspects," he said.
The German then questioned his presence in Beijing. Asked specifically about his plans for the future and whether he intends to play the tournament in China this week and the Davis Cup at the end of the season, he said I don't know. Asked if he would change anything in the format of the Laver Cup for the next few years, he ironically replied that perhaps he was too tired to have any ideas at the moment.

Zverev obtained the success that changed the fate of the Laver Cup 2024. By overcoming Frances Tiafoe in the super tie break that replaces the third set, he put Team Europe back on track with Carlos Alcaraz who then completed the job by beating Taylor Fritz.
Team Europe therefore won the Laver Cup 2024. Zverev recovered from a situation that seemed compromised both in terms of the singles match and the overall challenge, given that Tiafoe was ahead by a set and a break in the second set (7-6 4-2).
"At the end of the match I was tired but most of all very happy in the second set but I felt like I was playing better. I was able to get into the match a little bit better. So I had to stay calm. I tried some different things. And I also tried some things suggested by the guys behind me on the Europe bench. It all worked out well, and obviously we were all very happy that we were able to win," he analyzed.
