The pro wrestling world all watched closely as the Mr. McMahon Netflix series took over their news feeds this morning. There was a lot said in the six-part docuseries, and now were unpacking everything. Although Vince McMahon was the focus, Bret Hart also had a chance to speak on a notorious moment in pro wrestling history.

On May 19, 1996, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall had their final matches in WWF before departing for WCW. That event in Madison Square Garden, of all places, saw Scott Hall defeat Triple H, and Nash lost to Shawn Michaels. After the final match, the four real-life friends, but enemies in the ring shared an embrace in the ring. This breaking of character in front of the live audience became known as The Curtain Call, and it lived in infamy. It also led to Triple H getting punished in the booking since Vince McMahon couldnt sandbag Shawn Michaels.

In Netflixs Mr. McMahon docuseries, Bret Hart shared his thoughts on the impact of The Kliqs actions during the Curtain Call, expressing his belief that the incident fundamentally changed how fans perceived professional wrestling. The Hitman stated that he believes that pro wrestling was killed that day.

Bret Harts views on The Kliq align with his feelings about Vince McMahon, who chose not to punish Shawn Michaels for his involvement in the incident. After all, HBK was the WWF Champion at the time.

In the docuseries, Bret Hart also reflected on his decision to physically confront McMahon after the Montreal Screwjob, making his stance on the former WWE Chairman clear. [Punching McMahon was] Probably the best thing I ever did, and he deserved every bit of that, Hart said.

Netflixs Mr. McMahon docuseries has offered fans a detailed look into the life and controversies surrounding Vince McMahon, with insight from those who have worked closely with him over the years. We will see if there is a part two of this docuseries, but Vince cancelled all of his remaining interviews with the film crew once Janel Grants allegations broke.
