Mercedes Mone left WWE in 2022 due to creative differences with Vince McMahon and would eventually make her way to NJPW before officially signing with AEW. Many fans feel AEW and WWE are at war but Mone believes AEW should focus on themselves instead of trying to chase after WWE.
Mercedes Mone, who made the switch from WWE to AEW, shared her thoughts on the differences between the two organizations during her appearance on The Breakfast Club. She pointed out that AEW is still relatively new, having only been established for five years, while WWE has a rich history spanning over 30 years.
Mone believes that instead of trying to catch up to WWE, AEW should concentrate on its own unique strengths. She stated that AEW is a place where top wrestlers from around the world showcase their talents, which sets it apart. According to her, there isnt a need for AEW to close any gaps; the focus should be on continuing to stand out as its own brand.
Mercedes Mone also bragged about AEW Dynamite beating out WCW. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether AEW will actually focus on their own product instead of worrying about WWE.
