CM Punk is no stranger to controversy, and he certainly doesnt care if people dislike him. Having capitalized on the drama surrounding his career, hes fully prepared to stir things up in NXT on October 1. This news isnt exactly music to Ethan Pages ears, in fact, Page has publicly declared his animosity toward the Second City Saint in a big way.
Triple H recently dropped a video on social media where CM Punk brought his dog, Larry, backstage. Punks K-9 companion received a warm welcome, but this wasnt shared by everyone who saw the video.
Ethan Page saw that feel-good video of CM Punk, Larry, Triple H and Bianca Belair. He didnt see it as heart-warming as so many others, as he stated that he now hates CM Punk more than he hates Trick Williams.
At the CWs debut show for NXT in Chicago, Ethan Page will defend his NXT Championship against Trick Williams, with CM Punk serving as the special guest referee. Punk has already promised that this will be a fair fight. Despite Punks assurance that he will call the match fairly, Pages resentment toward him isnt changing.
Ethan Page was placed right on top of the NXT roster upon his arrival on the brand. He had a stay in AEW, but that didnt amount to much. Now, he is the top dog on the black and gold brand, and he doesnt appreciate Larry stealing any spotlight that could go to him.
