Jey Uso had been through a long and arduous journey during his singles run in WWE but he finally won the Intercontinental Championship this week and it appears Jey Uso has been slammed for his over the top gimmick, especially after his title win.
On theSeptember 23 episode ofMonday Night RAW, Jey Uso got a chance to fight for the WWE Intercontinental Title. When all was said and done,Jey Uso finally captured the Intercontinental Championshipon WWE RAW, marking his first singles title win since joining the main roster in May 2010.
While speaking on Drive-Thru, Jim Cornette talked about Jey Usos title win and criticized the fact, stating that it was a bad decision. He called Jey Usos character his least favorite among top stars in wrestling.
Cornette stated that while he has many dislikes in AEW, he officially considers Jey Uso his least favorite top guy gimmick. He expressed his dislike for Usos outfit, which features Yeet on his arms and flower petals on his legs, along with bright blue colors. Cornette also criticized Usos wrestling style, claiming it has declined and that his flashy moves feel off-time and difficult to work with.
Cornette believes that while Usos popularity has grown, especially due to his involvement in the Bloodline storyline, the title should not have been taken from Bron Breaker so soon. Cornette feels that breaking Brauns momentum was unnecessary and that Jeys victory doesnt bring the same excitement as potential matches with other wrestlers like GUNTHER or Bron himself. He argues that the decision reflects poor booking choices in WWE, suggesting that it might not lead to compelling matches going forward.
