On the September 24 episode, CM Punk was backstage talking to JeVon Evans when Trick Williams came up to him. Williams is going to fight Ethan Page for the NXT Championship on October 1, during the CW premiere.
Punk, who will be the special guest referee for the match, told Williams that he plans to be fair. He also said that even if Ethan Page tries to cheat, he wont let anyone, including Trick, get away with breaking the rules.
According to Fightful Select, CM Punk was not present at this weeks episode of NXT and that his segments were filmed the previous week.
