Manchester United have made the same start to the 2024/25 season as they did under David Moyes during his ill-fated 2013/14 tenure.

Sunday's bitterly disappointing 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur means United have just seven points from their first six Premier League games, with Erik ten Hag's side winning two, drawing one and losing three of their matches so far this year.

Like Moyes, Ten Hag has led the team to 12th in the Premier League standings after six games, although they could drop down to 13th if Bournemouth beat struggling Southampton on Monday evening.

Both Moyes' side and Ten Hag's outfit conceded eight goals across their first six outings, although the 2024/25 team have an inferior goal difference after only scoring five times, compared to the eight netted by the Moyes-led side 11 years ago.

Conceding goals has been a real issue for Ten Hag, who watched on as his United side shipped three goals for the 23rd time under his watch.

The pressure on Ten Hag's shoulders is huge but the boss insists he does not fear being sacked by United, who he believes remain on his side as part of a long-term project.
