AEW has announced a new deal with Warner Bros Discovery that will keep Dynamite and Collision on their network; however, one show will not be included in the agreement. It seems that Rampage is being cut, and there is a rationale behind this decision.
Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that Dynamite and Collision will continue to air on Wednesdays and Saturdays, respectively, while AEW Rampage will no longer be broadcast on WBD.
It was reported that, originally, Rampage was a show that WBD requested in 2021. However, with the new agreement, both parties have chosen to focus on Dynamite and Collision. WBD mentioned that Rampage could potentially find a new home, but no plans have been announced regarding the future of that brand.
Tony Khan has already praised October 2, 2024, as one of the biggest days in AEW history. Not only did they unveil a new television deal, but tonight will see the company celebrate their 5-Year Anniversary special of AEW Dynamite.
AEW also reportedly has a new Shockwave show coming to Fox. Needless to say, AEW has a very busy schedule in the pipeline, and its anyones guess what they will do creatively to fill up all that time on the air.
