There will be a lot of differences for Steve Kerr and the Warriors this season, the most significant being that the team is without one of their top scorers.

Despite a rocky last few years, Klay Thompson was the teams number two scorer behind Steph Curry.

So, the shooting guard position is up for grabs, since there is no clear replacement.

However, Golden State coach Steve Kerr says almost every starting position is up for grabs.

There is competition across the board, Kerr said. Its not as simple as, Who is going to be the 2? Its got to be Who is going to be the 5? Whos the 4? We know that Steph is the 1. But whats the combination?

The Dubs used 27 different starting lineups last season, but none brought them much joy.

The starting lineup is going to have to be dependent, not only on the first five fitting, but the second fitting as well, Kerr said. Weve got a lot of work to do to figure out lineups. All the guys can do is compete, play their ass off.

As for who will fill the hole on offense. Its anyones guess.

Second-year guard Brandin Podziemski said Kerr and the front office have told him to attempt eight-ten three-pointers per game.

But the head coach also wants Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody and newcomer DeAnthony Melton to take a high volume of shots.

I want Wigs shooting six, seven 3s, Kerr said. I want Brandin, I want Moses, I want DeAnthony I want to be a high-volume shooting team. I think thats important to us. The big shift is Klay is not here. So we were fourth in the league in 3-point attempts last year, but Klay probably shot eight to 10 of them, so were going to have to fill that void. That will come from multiple people.
