The Warriors are nowhere near title contention this season, but that doesnt change anything for Draymond Green.

He may not believe that the team is capable of a championship right now, but they are on the way to building to another one, which will partly be to his credit.

Whether we win another championship or not, if (the Warriors) win the championship seven years from now, 10 years from now, thats our championship. Period, Green said, via The Athletic.

The four-time champ feels positive about the new additions of DeAnthony Melton, Kyle Anderson and Buddy Hield and its proof that the Warriors front office are thinking in the same way Green is.

I know I aint done. I know he aint done, Green said, pointing to Curry. So it aint like, All right, I feel like Im at the end. Im cashing it in. Nah. We can do that s again. I know we can do it again. Im not a part of the consortium that dont think we can get it done. But in doing it again, youve got to acknowledge that its not going to look like it did before. Id struggle if we were just cashing it in. That aint for me. But I dont feel like anyone around here is doing that. Were actively trying to put the pieces together to build.

Head coach Steve Kerr is also on board with Greens attitude.

Thats kind of the tone that everybody wants to set you dont want a championship, youre a failure, Kerr said. Its not real life. So whats real life for us is we have a chance to have a hell of a year and be a really scrappy, tough, defensive-minded team. We have the pieces to do that. And when you do stuff right, and you do stuff with a plan, and you do stuff with force, it sets you up to take another step.
