In an interview with The Metro, Gunther opened up about how Triple H has always had his back, even from the beginning. He always supported me and saw something in me, Gunther revealed. In general, I think he is somebody that is very disciplined when it comes to his long-term goals with certain people and sticking to them. I dont know if I would be here without ever being more or less connected with Triple H in that sense.
From his early days as WALTER in NXT UK to now being a dominant force on Raw, Gunthers journey has been anything but ordinary. His partnership with Triple H, who saw potential in him from the start, has been a game-changer. Gunther is now gearing up for a major World Heavyweight Championship defense against Sami Zayn next Monday, a rematch of their epic WrestleMania 40 clash where Zayn shockingly ended Gunthers historic Intercontinental Championship reign.
Despite his strong bond with Triple H, Gunther admitted that he didnt share the same connection with former WWE boss Vince McMahon. The creative ideas from his side, obviously, were never my kind of thing. But thats subjective. Its a taste thing, Gunther said candidly. I think the success cant be denied. But I was just under him for maybe three and a half months, and in that time, I had half a conversation with him.
As Gunthers star continues to rise, its clear that having Triple H in his corner has played a vital role in his success. With another championship battle on the horizon, all eyes are on Gunther as he seeks to solidify his legacy in WWE.
