Brad Gilbert analyzed the final of the ATP 500 in Beijing won by Carlos Alcaraz over Jannik Sinner, after a three-set battle that lasted over three hours. A match won by the Spanish tennis player in the decisive tie break of the third set, in which he found himself 3-0 down before overturning his opponent and winning the 4th title of the season.

Through a post, Gilbert talked about the rivalry between the Spaniard and the Italian, after the conclusion of the challenge between Alcaraz and Sinner:
"After 20 years of fantastic matches by the Big 3 (Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic - ed.), I didn't think it was possible to have another fantastic rivalry like the one between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner so soon. This is the gold standard in tennis, Alcaraz vs. Sin City let's get ready for the next 10 years with tons of these fantastic pairings. Let's hope."
Finally, Gilbert took a stand against WADA appeal to the CAS in Lausanne regarding the acquittal of Sinner by an independent ITIA tribunal following the Clostebol doping-sissue: "Wada, don't ruin everything."
Meanwhile, Alcaraz and Sinner reached Shanghai on the same flight
Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner took the same plane in peace to reach Shanghai, where they will play their next tournament. Carlitos spoke about the photo, revealing some interesting behind the scenes.
"Jannik and I have a great relationship off the court too. I think we respect each other a lot: both as players and as people. But when we are on Tour, during tournaments, we spend a lot of time with our team alone and so we don't talk too much. But when we can, we talk beyond tennis. We are not close friends, but the respect we have for each other allows us to have a great relationship," he said.

"I couldn't do much after the final. I went to the conference and took a shower before running to catch the plane. So I did everything in a hurry. We arrived very late here and I couldn't sleep as much as I would have liked. But I'm happy to be in Shanghai and to be able to play this tournament again," he added.
