Arne Slot became the first Liverpool manager to win his first four away games in the Premier League after cruising to victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday, an achievement that he believes is 'special'.

The Dutchman has taken well to life in England's top flight, storming to the top of the league table after an impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.

His strong start in charge continued on Saturday as Diogo Jota scored inside the opening ten minutes of the game to earn the Reds a crucial 1-0 win at Selhurst Park.

"It's quite special," Slot told reporters when asked about his heroic start to the season. "If you know how many great managers Liverpool had too. But I also said last week I hope they don't only remember me for one, two, three, five years, we are hoping to do more special things than this.

"It also says that I've inherited a very good squad and a very good staff to continue getting the results that Jurgen [Klopp] had here as well."

The Reds boss also gave an update on Alisson, who was forced to leave the pitch during the latter stages of the game after receiving treatment for an injury.

"If a player walks off like he did, that normally he means he's not in the Brazil squad and I don't expect him to be in the team in the first game we play afterwards either. We have to wait and see but it will take a few weeks for him to be back. I think it was his hamstring."

Liverpool return to action on 20 October against Chelsea after the international break.
