The news of Monday Night RAWs transition to Netflix has created widespread discussion among pro wrestling fans, as the move to the streaming platform may lead to several changes. Triple H has now addressed how RAWs runtime might be affected following the switch to Netflix.
It was reported thatWWE and Netflix confirmed their huge dealto move Monday Night RAW to the streaming service, which will begin in January 2025. The reported deal,valued at over $5 billion foraduration of ten years, shocked fans all over the world and the deal was announced on January 23rd.
During theSeptember 9 episode of RAW, it was announced that WWEs flagship show will bereduced to a two-hour format from October 7 until the end of 2024, airing from 8 pm ET to 10 pm ET on the USA Network. This made fans wonder if the 2-hour format will remain the same on Netflix next year.
While speaking during the post-Bad Blood media scrum, Triple H talked about the future of RAW on Netflix, saying they havent decided how long the show will be yet. He mentioned that if RAW gets shortened to two hours in 2025, it could bring some big changes. He explained that running a three-hour show is much harder than doing a two-hour one, and cutting it down would make a big difference.
Right now, RAW is three hours long, but will go down to two soon. Triple H thinks this will reduce some of the stress, and sometimes less is more. He believes the move to Netflix and the shorter runtime will be good, although theyre still figuring things out.
The Game also said that no matter how long the show is, the main goal is to put out the best product and tell great stories. People sometimes focus too much on the shows length, but the most important thing is how good the storytelling is. He compared it to making a movie each week and said the key is to write the best stories and fit them into whatever time they have.
We have also reported that WWE RAW will have commercials on Netflix and that it was always part of the plan. Triple H is also confident that fans will make thetransition to Netflix without any concerns.Regardless, it remains to be seen whether WWE will undergo significant changes with RAWs transition to Netflix next year.
