Recently, there have been worries about how Black male wrestlers are booked on the main roster, especially since they are seldom showcased in the companys Premium Live Events. It was then reported that WWE is aware of the issue and that there are expectations that it will be addressed moving forward, especially focusing on showcasing black male singles talent.
While speaking during the WWE Bad Blood Post-Show Press Conference, Triple H was asked about the recent criticisms regarding WWEs lack of diversity on their roster, particularly noting that no Black talent was represented at the event. He responded by stating that he doesnt differentiate based on color, nationality or gender, adding that he only sees talent. He clarified that his focus is on talent rather than representation.
Triple H further explained that WWE tells stories with the talent they have and prioritizes bringing those stories to life. He mentioned that he doesnt keep track of representation and instead focuses on what is relevant and the biggest stories in wrestling.
Unfortunately, Triple Hs response was not met well on social media, as many fans were outraged by The Game claiming he doesnt see color. Many fans blasted Triple H and accused him of being racist and disrespectful, among other things.
Even Jinder Mahal addressed the need for WWE to showcase more South Asian talent. Therefore, its clear that WWE aims to avoid controversy regarding diversity, so it remains to be seen when they will include more diverse talent in their Premium Live Events. Triple Hs comments have already created significant backlash, revealing the ongoing concerns about representation in the company.
