The young Italian has become the first player born after 2000 to reach 250 victories on the ATP Tour, almost in the same period in which Carlos Alcaraz reached 200 wins.

But not only that: the ATP No.1 has obtained the 60th success of the year, including the 40th on the hard-court, the surface on which he is able to express himself at his best and make the difference compared to almost all the competition. A datathat he managed to obtain also last year, thus becoming the sixth athlete, with a maximum age of 23 years to win 60 matches during the season for more consecutive years.

A very small club of tennis players have managed to conquer this record: the Australian Lleyton Hewitt (from 2000 to 2002), the American Andy Roddick (2003-2004) and of course the Big Three with Roger Federer in the years 2003 and 2004, Rafael Nadal from 2007 to 2009 and Novak Djokovic (2007-2010).

Sinner will try to increase the number of victories in Shanghai, where he is expected back on the court today (Sunday 6 October 2024) for the 3rd round of the competition.

The Italian has entered the final phase of the year, a part in which a lot will be played on indoor hard courts - conditions that further highlight his game. Inevitably everyone still sees him among the absolute protagonists, as has been the case since the beginning of the year, despite the young Italian also dealing with the Clostebol doping-issue.
