While speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff talked about how the stars Tony Khan brought in, including Mercedes Mon, havent been enough to elevate the company. Bischoff criticized the amount paid to Mon, calling it one of the biggest financial miscalculations in professional wrestling history.
The WWE Hall of Famer noted that her arrival did not lead to the expected success, and instead, her popularity has significantly declined since joining AEW. Bischoff expressed uncertainty about Tony Khans next steps but wished him well with the situation.
As for Mercedes Mone possibly being the highest paid womens wrestler in the world right now, the CEO of AEW made it clear that she feels she more than deserves this privilege as she has worked very hard to make it to that level in the first place. Regardless, only time will tell whether Mercedes Mone will end up becoming a worthy investment for AEW, as many feel she just isnt worth the price yet.
