Stephanie McMahon has been a significant and influential figure in WWE for many years, contributing to the companys success in various roles. However, she has not been directly involved in the inner workings of the company since 2023 but Vince Russo has made a big claim about her status in WWE.
Stephanie McMahon had taken a leave of absence to focus on her family but returned to WWE in 2022 when her father, Vince McMahon, was under investigation. However, when Vince returned as Executive Chairman of the WWE Board of Directors last year, it led to Stephanies resignation from the company.
In a surprising move, Vince McMahon stepped down from his position as Executive Chairman of TKO Group Holdings following sexual trafficking allegations. This change paved the way for Stephanies return at WrestleMania 40 and her appearance at the WWE Draft earlier this year and then at SummerSlam as well.
During an interview on Sportskeeda Wrestlings Writing With Russo, Vince Russo claimed that Stephanie McMahon may have a more significant behind-the-scenes role than people realize. Russo claimed that he heard through the grapevine that McMahon is very active in WWE again, but the company is keeping it quiet.
There is no legitimacy to what Vince Russo had to say, so fans will likely take what he claimed with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see whether Stephanie McMahon herself responds to such rumors. After all, fans definitely want to see McMahon back in some capacity.
