On Sunday, the American tennis star delivered an outstanding performance to storm past Karolina Muchova 6-1 6-3 in the Beijing final for her seventh title. For the 20-year-old, it was her second WTA 1000 title.

Of course, the biggest one in her collection is the Grand Slam one she captured at the 2023 US Open. In her collection, Gauff also has a pair of WTA 250/500 titles.

While the current world No. 4 has proved multiple times that she is capable on the biggest stage, some still found a way to criticize the American and disrespect her by claiming she was only capable of winning in the lowest category on the main level.

"sHe OnLy wInS 250s," Gauff sarcastically wrote on her Instagram Story after winning Beijing before adding: "Well... WHOMP WHOMP."

A fan took a screenshot of the post and wrote on X: "Coco has the mentality of a 5 year old i'm sorry."

The 20-year-old noticed the post - but instead of bashing the person in question - she gave a pretty respectful answer: "Honestly kids have the best out look on life. they are so positive and creative. so Ill take it. my goal this tournament was to play and enjoy tennis as much as I did when I was a kid because thats when life was/is the most fun!"

Gauff gets urged not to get into it with doubters and critics, responds: I'm procrastinating...

After the new seven-time champion responded to one critic, some others used the moment to send her warm messages. One fan showed appreciation for the former world No. 2 but also urged her to try to keep away from social media.

"Coco I love u but pls enjoy your win and get off of twitter," one fan told the American, to which Gauff responded: "I love u too! Im bored and procrastinating on packing (laughing emoji). I dont even have the app downloaded I use on website to avoid going on it but everyone now and then I like to pop in and see whats poppin lol."

During her outstanding 2023 summer, the 20-year-old mentioned her haters, critics and doubters several times. In one of her interviews, Gauff very openly told that particular group of people that she was aware of what every one of them was saying and that her response would come. And it happened after she won her maiden WTA 1000 and Grand Slam titles in Cincinnati and the US Open.

"I know you love the energy of doubters and haters, but I want to tell you there are many people who never doubt and will be there for you win or lose, and I'm one of them. Thank you for winning for us. Love you Coco," another message that the 2023 US Open champion received read.

"The love I get keeps me going!! I do talk about doubters a lot but I am trying to remember to reciprocate the love I receive because there is a lot of it. and I love you too! Thanks for supporting me," the world No. 4 replied.

Gauff wrote tennis history in Beijing

For the American's doubters and critics, one bad news is that the 20-year-old also made history by beating Muchova as she became the first player in the Open Era to win all of her first seven finals on hard courts. So far, she has won seven of her eight finals and the loss to Iga Swiatek in the French Open final two years ago remains her lone defeat in a title match.

"That's pretty cool, considering there's been so many great players before me in the Open Era. Honestly, with the stat things, I feel like every tournament, it's a new stat or new record. I'm very thankful. I would be excited to see when the next stat is, the next girl, I don't know who, will be the first person to do this since Coco Gauff. I'm excited to see that, honestly," the seven-time winner reflected.

Now, Gauff will also try to win Wuhan and capture back-to-back WTA 1000 titles.
