TNA Wrestling initially postponed shows in Spartanburg, but later canceled them due to the hurricane. Cash Wheeler also shared the devastating effects of the storm on his hometown in North Carolina. Cash Wheeler started a GoFundMe campaign to provide supplies like food and water to those in need, focusing on his hometown of Old Fort, North Carolina, and nearby areas. Tony Khan had contributed $10,000 towards the relief efforts as well.
Asheville, North Carolina resident Adam Copeland appeared on Busted Open to talk about the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene and the ongoing relief efforts in his community. During the discussion, Copeland revealed that AEW President Tony Khan played a key role in helping the local police department.
According to Copeland, the Asheville Police Department needed specialized Starlink devices to improve communication and locate people trapped in remote mountain areas, which the larger Starlink units couldnt reach. Copeland reached out to Khan for help, and he quickly sent the needed stealth Starlinks to assist in the recovery efforts. Copeland praised Khan for his generosity and support during the crisis, highlighting how he stepped up to provide essential equipment.
