Many AEW stars realize what it takes to connect with fans, and Saraya knows what it is like to receive cheers and heckling. She recently received a fair amount of hate during AEW Dynamites Title Tuesday, and a new fan video from the show illustrates that perfectly.
In a 4-Way AEW Womens World Title Eliminator Match during the October 8 AEW Dynamite, Jamie Hayter, Willow Nightingale, Saraya, and Nyla Rose battled for a title shot at WrestleDream. This match drew a considerable amount of attention, especially from fans at ringside.
The match started with Nightingale, Hayter, and Rose targeting Saraya, who quickly fled the ring. Chaos ensued outside as Sarayas ally, Cameron, joined the fight, and Rose took down all four with a top-rope crossbody. Hayter and Saraya exchanged attacks, while Rose and Nightingale landed big moves. Saraya attempted to use a chair, but Hayter retaliated, leading to interference from a returning Penelope Ford. Amid the mayhem, Nightingale hit a Death Valley Driver on Saraya through a table, pinning her for the victory.
During the match, fans were heckling Saraya at ringside, and they were quite brutal about it. They called for Jamie Hayter to continue her attack on Saraya, as they said to give her one more trip into the barricade at ringside.
The clip of Saraya taking this heckling went viral, with a caption reading, All my homies hate Saraya. This might be an exaggeration, but it is very safe to say that Saraya has her fair share of critics and haters in the AEW fan base. The video is capped off with a middle finger extended in Sarayas direction to really send the message home. As a heel, that means she is doing her job.
We will have to see what Saraya is able to accomplish in AEW next. She may have another title run in her future, but her luck certainly needs to turn around a bit before that can happen. You can check out the clip below.
