AEW has had a great run since it started in 2019, growing a lot and doing really well. However, things have been slowing down since their All Out event in 2021. Like any company, AEW faces problems, and one of them is having trouble selling tickets for their live events.
The October 8th episode of AEW Dynamite was held at the Spokane Arena in Spokane, WA and the show was the go-home edition of AEW Dynamite before the WrestleDream pay-per-view on October 12th.
According to WrestleTix, the Spokane Arena has a seating capacity of approximately 12,638 for wrestling events. The show was set up for 2,522 fans and it ultimately sold 1,852. Therefore, 670 tickets were left unsold when the show began, which is not a good look. Approximately 85.34% of the total capacity was not sold for the event and approximately 26.57% of the tickets were not sold.
Some critics think that AEWs decision to use large venues has created unappealing images, showing empty seats and raising worries about ticket sales. However, there is hope that AEW can overcome these problems and get back to its earlier success.
However, there is apprehension that AEWs current attendancefigures could mirror WCWsdecline in 2000, prompting worries about the companys future trajectory. Time will reveal whether AEW can effectively address these challenges, especially considering the recent improvements in their product.
