QT Marshall, who had been with AEW since its inception,left the promotion when his contract expired last year. While many felt he might go to WWE and work with Cody Rhodes, he returned to AEW but hasnt wrestled after rejoining the company. In fact, Marshall has now revealed why he no longer wrestles in AEW.
Marshall has worn many hats since the companys inception, including wrestler, manager, producer, and now VicePresident of Show and Creative Coordination of the company. Many fans feel Marshalls current role in the company is what he truly excels at as well.
While speaking on the Gabby AF podcast, QT Marshall explained why he doesnt wrestle in AEW anymore. He mentioned that he and AEW President Tony Khan dont share the same vision when it comes to Marshall wrestling.
QT Marshall said he has a good relationship with Tony Khan, even though they do not always agree on wrestling matters. Khan helped Marshall find a behind-the-scenes role at AEW while allowing him to wrestle for other companies.
Marshall spoke highly of Khan, saying many people consider him very nice. When Marshall came back to AEW, he and Khan made an agreement that he could wrestle for other promotions, except WWE. He also mentioned he had talked about working with TNA while still being part of AEW, and Khan even offered to help pay for his travel.
QT Marshall is certainly more than happy to be working in AEW in his backstage role, as he can still wrestle in another companies and Marshall will always appreciate Tony Khan for giving him such opportunities. For Marshall, that is all that truly matters to him at the moment.
