MJF has not been seen on AEW television since the All Out pay-per-view last month as he has been busy filming for a movie, namely Happy Gilmore 2. With that said, the first look at MJF in the movie has now been revealed.
As previously reported, MJF has been confirmed to play one of Happy Gilmores sons in the new movie. He will act alongside familiar stars like Adam Sandler, Julie Bowen, and Christopher McDonald. This role is an important step in MJFs acting career, especially after his part in the wrestling movie The Iron Claw and upcoming films like The Floaters and Stranglehold. The movie will stream on Netflix, and fans can look forward to a fun mix of classic Sandler humor and MJFs charm.
As seen by footage making rounds online, MJF and Adam Sandler were shooting a scene for Happy Gilmore 2, where MJF could be seen walking alongside Sandler. MJF sported a cutout shirt in the scene and it was clear he would be portraying a role that his similar to his AEW character in the movie, as he told bystanders to watch out and move away.
Fightful Select has also reported that while MJF is expected to return to AEW TV soon, no specific date has been confirmed just yet. Regardless, The Salt of the Earth is clearly having a great time during his hiatus from AEW television, so it remains to be seen whether he will end up having a substantial career in Hollywood somewhere down the line.
