The Russian, at the press conference, explained that beating a tennis player like the young Italian, in these conditions and without being able to serve well, is practically impossible.

"Unfortunately I had a pain in my shoulder. It started yesterday during the match, but I thought it was nothing. I still hope it's nothing serious, I'll have to do some checks tomorrow. This pain didn't allow me to serve as I wanted and against Sinner the serve is important. The energy wasn't the same. In the second set I tried to increase the push, which helped me, but it's hard to beat Sinner without a serve. I'm really disappointed: not so much for the result, but for the fact that I wasn't able to go out on court as I wanted," he explained.
Medvedev then also expressed his opinion on who is the best tennis player at the moment, explaining how - although Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are currently the best - Novak Djokovic is always capable of anything.

"At this very moment Carlitos and Jannik are probably the best in the world, but we all know what Nole is capable of. He proved it at the Olympics by beating Carlos in the final. Sinner serves much better than before and is very consistent, a great player. I think he has crazy statistics: he never loses before the quarterfinals," he analyzed.
Medvedev will try to win at least one title in this final part of the season: "I have three more tournaments I'm signed up for, we'll see how my shoulder goes. In tennis, titles are the most important thing. The season is long and we do what we can. But I think there are at least 90 players in the top 100 who would like to play the same season as me even though I haven't won any titles."
