The announcementthatMonday Night RAWismoving to Netflixhas created major discussion within the pro wrestling community. The company will be undergoing a major shift in 2025 once RAW moves to Netflix but it appears that Peacock believes their content wont remain on the streaming platform once their deal with WWE ends.

It was reported thatWWE and Netflix confirmed their huge dealto move Monday Night RAW to the streaming service, which will begin in January 2025. The reported deal, valued at over $5 billion foraduration of ten years and obviously the company has huge plans for its transition to Netflix next year.

WWEs partnership with Peacock began in January 2021 and is a major streaming deal worth approximately $1 billion over five years. This agreement made Peacock the exclusive streaming home for WWE content in the United States, replacing WWEs standalone streaming service, WWE Network. The transition took effect in March 2021, just in time for WrestleMania 37, making Peacock the go-to platform for WWE fans in the U.S.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, while isnt confirmed yet, but there is a feeling at Peacock that when WWEs streaming deal ends in early 2026, WWE might move all its content to Netflix. Since WWE is a public company, they will choose the best offer. If this happens, the U.S. would be the last big country where WWEs shows, archives, and what used to be the WWE Network arent on Netflix.

Meltzer believes that if Netflix had joined the negotiations earlier, before WWE made deals with CW and USA for NXT and SmackDown, those shows might have gone to Netflix too if Netflix paid enough. However, having WWE shows on Netflix, cable, and broadcast TV has an advantage, as it reaches more people. Many homes dont have cable, Netflix, or CW, but most have at least one of them.

Sean Ross Sapp reported that commercials were always intended to be part of WWE RAW on Netflix. He pointed out that some online accounts were spreading false information, saying there wouldnt be any commercials, but those accounts didnt have the correct details about the situation. Nonetheless, well have to wait and see whether all of WWEs catalogue will end up leaving Peacock once their deal expires, as that seems to be the likely outcome.
