Goldbergs surprise appearance at WWE Bad Blood sparked major buzz after a heated confrontation with WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER. Fans were left wondering if this face-off would lead to Goldbergs in-ring return, especially after GUNTHER insulted the wrestling legend during the live event. But according to the latest update from Dave Meltzer, there are no immediate plans for a match between Goldberg and GUNTHER.
At Bad Blood, GUNTHER taunted Goldberg, calling him a one-trick pony while the Hall of Famer was sitting ringside with his family. Goldberg attempted to jump the barricade in response, but security stepped in before things could get physical. This moment left fans speculating whether Goldberg might compete again, especially with Triple H fueling the rumors by saying, never say never when asked about Goldbergs future.
However, Meltzers update suggests that while the confrontation was intense, it wont immediately lead to a match. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are no plans for a GUNTHER vs. Goldberg match at Crown Jewel, where Goldberg typically earned $2 million per appearance. GUNTHER is already set to face Cody Rhodes at that event. Additionally, a potential match between Goldberg and GUNTHER is not scheduled for Survivor Series or WrestleMania as of now, though WrestleMania plans usually start coming together around October.
Meltzer hinted that while the match isnt currently on the books, its not entirely off the table either. WWE is known for shifting gears quickly, and with Triple Hs never say never comment, fans are left to wonder if Goldbergs return to the ring could still happen down the line.
As of now, Goldberg hasnt competed in WWE since his match against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber 2022. With the wrestling world always full of surprises, its unclear when or if Goldberg will make his way back for another high-profile match.
